Xmas Eve. Waiting for 02-003E
, 28243(W to N pass) close to
alpha Sculptor. I hit the recording button when I saw the
first flash ( flash#0). The peak-hold image below showed
10 flashes. Note the alternative bright and dim flash in the
sequence. P=7.77 seconds |

A 'pearly' meteor and a 'late

A -2 magnitude slow meteor crossed the video FOV. The 1.125
seconds transversal de-interlaced 'peak-hold' image revealed the closely
spaced meteor nucleus . Watch the video

the same night MDS 1 Fairing 1
02-003D, 28237 was found by accident. A series of same file
size 49.1 Mb and x3 equal time stamp interval of 25 seconds ( 22:51:00,
22:51:25, 22:51:50:22:52:14) alerted me to check. Indeed each avi
played back showed a x1 flash. Skymap plot found 28237
matching the trajectory perfectly but I have a problem: the flash
timings reported in PPAS were 8+seconds. Private
communication with Ed Cannon revealed that he had seen similar 24+
flashing timing sequences in 2002. |
