Milky Way from Singapore
yK
The brightest part of the Milky way is situated at the sprout of the
Tea-pot or Sagittarius. On a relatively clear night ( with Moon out of the
way) the bright knots of the Milky way can be seen easily in real-time
from the b/w 15" TV using the ultra-sensitive un-cooled watec-902H
running at 25 frame per sec. On June 26 '03, about half an hour
after mid night, not a cloud was seen and I let my video walkman DV
recorder run. |

<- June 26 '03 Milky way ( Sagittarius) just
outside my window as 'seen' through the IR-sensitive Watec-902H
/f0.95 lens. The tight group of stars in upper right center is
Lagoon Nebulae. Note the 'dark' fingers of inclusions running into the
bright cores. |

<- July 6 '03 around 11:15pm . Moon
was low in western horizon and the sky was hazy resulted in a
grainier look. The dark regions of the Milky way
resembled the map of Scandinavia/Europe ! ( 40x15 frames) . Hot
pixels(3) creating short streaks were visible near the right edge. |
